Friday, November 16th, 2017 Room 4 Newsletter Dear Families, This week at school our scholars learned about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and how it is a time to be with family and friends and to reflected on what you are thankful for. We are looking forward to a weeklong thanksgiving break. A huge thank you to all of the room parents who organized our lovely thanksgiving party and all of the parents who lended a helping hand. It is so nice to be able to gather and celebrate together. Over Thanksgiving break your student’s brains still need to stay sharp. Please read with your child each and every day over the break! Remind your child to practice writing their first and last names neatly and possibly start a journal during Thanksgiving. Kindergarten fingers are ready to tie shoes! Each child is required to know how to tie their shoes before the Christmas party to receive a special surprise from Ms. Sarah and I. Look on our class website www.mssanderskindergarten.weebly.com for online resources. There is an optional paper homework assignment in your scholar’s folder if you have extra time over the holiday to practice with your child. Grandparents day was a success! We appreciate all of the grandparents who came to school and was able to come to mass and celebrate with us. Enjoy your Thanksgiving break and God bless you and your family, Ms. Sanders

We had a spooktacular Halloween bash hosted by our wonderful room parents. A huge thank you to all of the room parents for organizing our fun craft and yummy food. A big appreciation to the families who came to enjoy and help as well and brought goody bags to share. Also thanks to the parents who posted the beautiful photos of our scholars to the Shutterfly website. I have also posted some fun photos to our class website www.mssanderskindergarten.weebly.com Everyone is invited to our class mass on Sunday at 9:30. This mass is being hosted by kindergarten and the 8th grade. The kindergarten students will be actively participating by singing in the choir. Students should arrive to the church at 9:15 in their school uniform. Please make sure your scholar brings a jacket or sweater to school as the weather is getting cooler. Lots of our friends have the same jacket size so it is very important to label your child’s clothing clearly. We do not want any more jackets missing! We invited the author who created the Shelly’s Adventure book series to our school to read his story to the kindergarten and pre-k students on November 16th. If you want to order the book last minute I will accept any orders until Monday the 6th. He will be able to autograph the book during his book visit. Next week will be a short week, there will be no school as we honor our veterans. Also the canned food drive will begin on Monday where we will collect food for the less fortunate. Please look at the school website for more details. Blessings, Ms. Sanders |
