Thursday, January 12th, 2016 Room 4 Newsletter Dear Families, This week our stellar scholars learned all about Martin Luther King Jr. We studied the importance of treating everyone fairly no matter their culture, background, or race. The students performed “We shall overcome” for the Martin Luther King Jr prayer service for the student body. They did a beautiful job, they honored his legacy, and sang with all of their hearts. Reminder we do not have school on Friday January 13th and Monday January 16th. Catholic School's Week is at the end of the month. On Friday, February 3rd we will have a half day and the students will participate in our school Olympics. Each class is supposed to wear their class color and our color is gray and teal. Coach Joe has offered to make shirts for our class. The shirts are $10. This is not mandatory but just an option if you would like to have a class shirt. Please send CASH with your child's size by Tuesday, January 12th. Congratulations to the student of the month Andres C! He proved that he is a lifelong learner. He is very knowledgeable and interested in math and is always eager to ask questions to learn more and more. Before Christmas break he exhibited perseverance by never giving up on mastering the skill of tying his shoes. He simply keep trying and trying until he could do it on his own. Keep on shining bright Andres! Enjoy the long weekend! Blessings, Ms. Sanders
