Friday, February 17th, 2016 Room 4 Newsletter Dear Families, What a wonderful week in kindergarten! Your super scholars had so much fun leaving their heartprints with friends in our community in honor of Valentine’s day. “A heartprint is formed when you do something kind. Your love touches others...leaving heartprints behind!” (Hallinan, P. K. Heartprints. Nashville, TN: Worthy Kids/Ideals, 2015. Print.) A huge thank you to the room moms for the very lively nacho Valentine's dance party. We appreciate everyone who attended and lent a helping hand at the party. The students loved decorating their Valentine bags and showing off their moves on the dance floor! Ms. Sarah and I thank you all for the Valentine's gifts we received. The chocolates, cards, bears, and treats really made us feel special and loved. For the safety of our children everything in the classroom must be fire resistant. Sadly, the fire marshall required us to remove our pillows, rugs, and cupboard coverings. Now our classroom is not as cozy and welcoming an environment as I would like it to be. The cupboard coverings help students stay focused at the task at hand so the students would not be distracted by the toys and games in the cupboards. If you would like to leave your heart print and receive one service hour for each 25 dollars spent please donate fire resistant rugs, pillows, blinds, and curtains. All items must have labels that say “fire resistant”. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Enjoy the long weekend! Blessings, Nicole Sanders
