Friday, October 20th, 2017 Room 4 Newsletter Dear Families, This week was wonderful in kindergarten! We learned about the short and long “A” and the sight word “see”. Your scholars experimented with pumpkins as we used our 5 senses and even tasted pumpkin seeds! We wrapped up chapter 3 in math which covered counting, writing, and representing the numbers 6-9. In religion we learned about the gift of land that God made us. In social studies we defined good citizens and acted out different community helpers in our dramatic play area. On Wednesdays your scholar will have the opportunity to bring in something for show and tell. Your scholars are welcome to bring anything they like but nothing too valuable that they would be upset if it got lost. Please remind your student that their show and tell should remains safely in their backpack until it is time for their turn. We do enjoy having show and tell! It is a time where we learn more about our classmates and they have time where they can practice speaking in front of a large group. Next week will be a big one, red ribbon week and the pumpkin patch! Red ribbon week has traditionally been one to focus on drug awareness. At St. John however, we like to highlight and discuss the importance of overall positive habits and life choices that contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Please remember that your scholars need to bring their booster seat, a bag lunch, jeans with green uniform top, We look forward to seeing the chaperones and drivers at the school for a short meeting at 10:30 on Friday. Blessing, Ms. Sanders
